Enterprising residents get jobs boost

Nine ex-offenders from Haringey in north London were given a vital step back into the job market thanks to a ground-breaking project part-funded by L&Q.

L&Q worked closely with one of our grounds maintenance contractors, Enterprise, to secure training and job placements for local residents. All nine trainees also received an NVQ Level 2 qualification.

Jehan Weerasinghe from L&Q said: “This proves that by working together with Enterprise we have been able to do more than just keep our estates clean - we can also help improve life chances for some of our residents by getting them a job.”

The project was made possible by further funding from Haringey Guarantee (Haringey Council’s flagship scheme for tackling worklessness in the borough) and the London Development Agency.
