Financial inclusion

Financial inclusion is about helping residents on a low income, or who are disadvantaged, to access appropriate financial advice and services.

L&Q promotes financial inclusion for our residents in a number of ways:

• we provide support for vulnerable residents in danger of losing their tenancy
• we provide general information and advice about claiming housing and state benefits
• we refer people who are in arrears to a specialist agency for debt advice
• we provide training for frontline staff to help them understand financial inclusion and how they can help to promote it
• we encourage people to open bank accounts and pay rent by direct debit
