Southwark Council has selected L&Q to build and manage the first phase of the project to completely regenerate the Aylesbury estate at Elephant & Castle.
This will include 260 new homes for Aylesbury residents, commercial units and a state-of-the art Aylesbury Resource Centre, which will provide facilities for people with sensory, neurological and physical disabilities, along with health and therapy services, adult education, employment support, and IT.

Building work is expected to start in autumn 2008 and the development is expected to be completed by 2013.
The selection of L&Q follows 18 months of consultation and competition. We were chosen - subject to contract and EU procurement requirements - from a shortlist of seven by a panel including Aylesbury residents.
