What is QCI?
QCI is the community regeneration arm of L&Q. It has been developed in response to residents’ needs. It is a grass roots approach to improving communities by giving you the chance to choose your own future instead of having it chosen for you. QCI can support you to help you create safe and attractive places, to develop your community and to improve access to services.
How does QCI work?
QCI offers the opportunity to make positive changes to your neighbourhood. You could benefit from one of our current services, or apply for a small grant towards a project that benefits the community through our Community Growth Fund.
What is the Community Growth Fund?
The Community Growth Fund is a small grant scheme established to support the growth and development of local communities.
It offers up to £5,000 for projects that set out to benefit the community. Help, advice and guidance is also available to give those projects the best chance of succeeding.
Residents, local groups and agencies who work on behalf of local people can apply for a grant.
What types of things can funding be used for?
Funding can be used to:
• Provide training
• Make improvements to land or buildings
• Purchase equipment
• Organise trips and events to help bring families and communities closer
How does someone apply to the Community Growth Fund?
There is an application form which needs to be completed and returned to your regional L&Q office. There is then an assessment panel who have to approve the application.
Guidance notes are included with the application form, which explain how it should be completed. You may wish to speak to the regional Community Development Officer about your ideas and they can assist you with completing the form.
